Traduzione italiana dell’Elucidarius carminum et Historiarum. Torrentinus, umanista olandese e professore di retorica, ha compilato un pratico strumento di riferimento per i nomi geografici, personali e mitologici, così come l'arabo di base, l'ebraico e termini greci di espressione nel diritto, storia naturale, e altro. L’opera, importante fonte per i lessicografi del XVI e XVII secolo, ha avuto grande successo ed è stata più volte ristampata. In seguito è stata ampliata e tradotta da eminenti studiosi come Thomas Elyot e Charles Estienne. Edizione con elegantissime Iniziali figurate e due splendide marche tipografiche, elefante con torre sul dorso.

Torrentinus, the Dutch humanist and professor of rheroric, has compiled a handy reference tool for geographical, personal, and mythological names, as well as basic Arabic, Hebrew and Greek terms of expression in law, natural history, etc. The work was highly popular and went through many editions, and was often imitated. It was later expanded and translated by by such scholars as Thomas Elyot and Charles Estienne, and it is a major source for tghe lexicographers of the 16th and 17th centuries, such as Cooper, Minsheu, and Skinner. Edition with elegant iillustrated Initials and two wonderful printers' mark, elephant with a tower on its back.
