Description
A rare pair of Model S-140 bachelor's chests in blonde cerused oak by Jens Risom, likely produced in his NYC workshop c. 1949; with early labels on backboards. This matched pairwood finishing technique that creates a two-toned look, where the open grain of the wood is accentuated against a contrasting base color. Provenance: Jens Risom Design catalog, 1948-1949. Dimensions: H 32.25" x W 42" x D 21" Condition: Oak with uneven scuffing and rubs to finish throughout. A few spots of soiling/discoloration to drawer fronts and handles; a couple small repairs to veneer, scattered nicks, scratches, and scuffs to wood.

All the items in this auction remain at our Gallery in Norwalk, CT for pickup or shipping. Items must be picked up in the time frame of Tuesday, May 31th - Friday, June 10th, 9am-5pm, WEEKDAYS.
