CGC certified: NM (9.4). White pages. Cover by Jaxon and Dave Sheridan. Stories and art by Jack Jackson ("Jaxon"), Dave Sheridan, Jim Osborne, Richard Corben. First Printing: Silver Variant. One of 75 copies printed for private circulation. According to Jay Kennedy's Official Underground and Newave Comix Price Guide: "1st: Version with a silver cover. The first 100 or less copies off the press were printed on silver paper. These were given to employees and friends of Last Gasp." Fogel's Underground Comix Price Guide states that 75 copies were printed. Provenance: From the Personal Collection of Last Gasp publisher Ron Turner. CGC Census: Six slabbed copies, the highest grade being 9.4 (there are two 9.4 copies, this one and another that PBA sold in 2020). PBA sold a 9.4 for $1440 in December 2020 and a 9.2 for $1250 in February 2022. This is Ron's last copy — good luck finding another.

Rarest of the rare. Last Gasp publisher Ron Turner says that the cover to Slow Death #2 was printed at Company and Sons, a legendary Underground publisher based in San Francisco (1970-1973). "These were never in regular circulation. There was a small stack of this silver paper and I threw it onto the paper stack, and we printed and bound those silver copies. My idea was to give them out to all the various cartoonists I knew. I said 'these will be worth millions' back in 1970-71. I wasn't off by much."
