Skull-faced creeps dump a blonde gal down the well on this mag's tawdry cover. Meanwhile, in "Mark of the Beast," an adaptation of a Rudyard Kipling caper, a drunken Englishman in Rangoon defiles a sacred statue for laffs. Vengeful natives sic a leper on the lout, and soon the English bloke turns savage ("Worst case of hydrophobia I've ever seen!"). A disturbing torture scene follows ("What happened then is not to be printed"). Finally the writer, having boxed himself into a narrative corner of no escape, tacks on a nonsensical ending and calls it a day.
