Spine roll, staples a bit pulled with short tears to spine, top staple rusty, top edge of covers and pages a bit wavy, dampsoiling to top edges of inside covers, faint crease to top right corner of front cover, small soil spot near bottom right corner of front cover, rubberstamped distributor's mark to top right corner ("APR 21"). Cream to light tan pages. Cover: Matt Baker. Art: Matt Baker (eight pages), Ralph Lane, uncredited others. GPAnalysis: No reported sales in this grade. A 4.5 sold for $126 in April 2019.

A blonde babe sulks in the margins of Matt Baker's cover, angry at the judge for tossing her beau in the clink for a 20-year stretch. Baker is best-known for the beautiful gals who populate his romance and adventure stories, and he clearly couldn't resist adding a romance subtext to this mag's courtroom cover.

Baker's own love life was an even more complicated tangle than those depicted in his romance comics. According to artist Bob Lubbers, Baker was a babe magnet: "All the women, white and black, went crazy for him, and I know he had a bunch of gals on the hook." On the other hand, Baker's friend and fellow artist, Frank Giusto, says Baker was gay: "You knew Matt was gay, right? ...He probably had the hots for me, so to speak... One time I told him, 'Maybe you should see a psychiatrist or something like that, and they might help?' Eventually I got him to go see a psychiatrist, and when he came back that day I asked him how he made out, and he says, 'The guy is queerer than I am.'" — Jim Amash & Eric Nolen-Weatherington, Matt Baker: The Art of Glamour.
