On 22 April 2008, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified Greatest Hits 15x Platinum for sales of 15 million copies in the United States. As of December 2008, it was reported to have been the sixth highest certified 'greatest hits' package in the United States according to the RIAA.
