Description
Gene Davis (American, 1920-1985), Sweet Carburetor
silkscreen on canvas on board, 1969, presumably signed in felt-tip pen on the verso and numbered from an edition of 150, from Series 2, published by Petersburg Press, framed.
Image / Sheet size 30 x 20 in.; Frame dimensions 30 1/2 x 20 1/4 in.
Color field artist Gene Davis was know for these vibrant, punch works featuring brightly-colored stripes that explore the interplay between colors. The silkscreen prints offered here from Series 2 are unique because they are printed on canvas rather than paper, and this gives the works an especially strong and saturated feel.
