Item Details

Description

Circa 1870, presumably American, rosewood and extensively inlaid lap desk with a lovely interior. Measures 15" wide, 9" deep and 4 1/2" high. CONDITION: Exterior box reasonably undamaged with no veneer or inlay losses. Original finish intact with minor crazing at top. Interior is exceptionally clean; however, the top hinged tray has a significant warp and hinge is detached at one side. Fabric is bright, crisp and clean. Lastly, functional lock and key. Slightly imperfect but overall more than acceptably clean.
