Description
After Louis Sullivan Cast Iron Baluster, 1900-1910. This baluster is of the period and of Chicago origin; however, our consignor reports its story as follows: "Having purchased it for $5000 as a Louis Sullivan object, he sadly discovered that it was actually a very similar rendition of Louis Sullivan's work as plagorised by one of Louis Sullivan's architect employees who on one of his early commissions, after leaving Sullivan's firm, essentially stole Sullivan's design for his own project." Hence, our description reads AFTER Louis Sullivan. It measures 35" long by 12" wide. Unmarked. CONDITION: Excellent and undamaged.
