American theorem painting depicting ''The Fountain of Aegeria in Rome'', circa 1820, made by Frances M. Hart, oil on velvet, in giltwood frame having eglomise glass liner with title and artist's name in gilt lettering. The image likely copied from a late 18th century print engraved by JOHANN THOMAS HAUER (1748-1820) after a painting or image by ROBERT FREEBAIRN (British, 1764-1808). Age toning to velvet, eglomised gilt is worn slightly. Image (velvet) 17-3/4''h, 23-1/4''w; sight (with eglomise liner) 21''h, 26-1/2''w. Provenance: Estate of Laura Fisher, New York, NY.
