Description
Estate trove of manuscripts in Gaelic, mostly late 19th/early 20th century. Comprising notebooks and ledgers with handwritten transcriptions of material relating to the Irish language including a 2 volume copy of Thomas DeVere Coney's Irish - English Dictionary and works by Patrick Ferriter, along with some material on lexicographer William McLees, son of the noted banknote engraver Archibald McLees; together with O'Reilly, "An Irish-English Dictionary", Dublin 1817 (lacking covers) and numerous Gaelic instructional pamphlets, catalogs, and Irish - American publications. Largest: 15" high, 10" wide. Damage, losses, toning.
Condition
