Before the discovery of Bindu ( Style of painting that he Is most well known) S h Raza prolifically painted Mumbai then Bombay landscapes. In initial years he painted Bombay prolifically . This painting is 1947 representation of famous Mumbai chowpatty located at girgaon along the queens necklace adjoining marine drive in the girgaon area of Mumbai . Chowpatty or chai-pati represents four channels or four creeks in marathi .It was a virgin Beach at that time and was frequented by locals for excursions Medium : oil on canvas Signed lower right SH Raza ‘47 Size : 30 by 20 inches Provenance: Originally bought directly from the artist in France by well known Polish collector from Satopy Poland .
