Rare Chinese Ming Gilt Bronze Tantric Guanyin 10''x5.75''. A scarce twenty-four arm avalokiteshvara holding various buddhist objects. Seated in dhyanasana with two principal hands in anjali mudra above two subsidiary hands holding a book. Crowned with two seated buddha finial on double lotus throne. The figure has been re-fire-gilt at some point. Missing three hands with objects on right side. Two small edge dents to bottom, that have been gilt over. It weighs 4.3 pounds. 16th or 17th century, Ming dynasty. Private collection Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington.
