Description
Ruth Milles, Swedish, 1873 to 1941, a bronze sculpture of a Dutch girl with a hood. Signed to the back and hallmarked Eug. BLST Paris. Ruth Milles was a sculptor and writer. She is mainly known for her figurines and reliefs. Milles got many commissions from cultural institutions in Stockholm, among them the Royal Dramatic Theatre for medallions and busts of the singer Jenny Lind and the actor Georg Dahlqvist. She participated in a number of international exhibitions in St. Louis and Buenos Aires, where she received silver medals for her work, Rome, San Francisco, and the Swedish art exhibition in Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition, Denmark.
