Description
A handsome and quite large patinated bronze sculpture depicting Moses seated with tablets to his right hand side, raised on a square plinth, and mounted on black veined marble base. This sculpture of Moses was executed in the style of Ferdinand Barbedienne, after Michelangelo's original work, which is housed in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome. Signed "Michelangelo" on the plinth. Overall good condition, commensurate with age, showing some signs of patina oxidation throughout, age-related wear and one chip to the corner of the marble base. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Dates: 20th Century. Signature: On base "Michelangelo". Title: "Moses and the Tablets".
