Fred Barton (Miles City, Montana 1889-1967) signed copy of 1891 W L Holloway "Wild Life on the Plains and Horrors of Indian Warfare", Royal Publishing Co, St Louis, 1st edition, cloth, octavo, 9 1/8" x 6 1/2" , with Barton's signature inside front cover, accompanied by two glued-in black & white snapshots of Barton and his saddle, each 3" x 5 1/5". Barton was a Montana cowboy who led the world’s longest horse drive from Siberia through Manchuria and Mongolia into Shanxi Province, where he set up a 250,000 acre ranch to breed horses for a Chinese Warlord.
