Description
1670 Giacomo Tomasini Roman Catholic Hospitality Titus LIVY Letters Pavia Italy
Giacomo Filippo Tomasini was a 17th-century Catholic bishop in Istria most known for his biographical books on Catholicism and important Catholic figures. This book “De Tesseris Hospitalitatis” is a rare book on Roman Catholic hospitality and humanitarianism. This book is bound with “Episcopi Aemoniensis Titus Livius”; a collection of letters and writings on and about Livy and the antiquities of Pavia. Livy was celebrated for his flavor of Patavinity, and Tomasini wrote many works that trended toward the styles of Livy.
These two works are bound together as expected. They are found bound together in each example found and recorded in libraries. This fine work is filled with detailed engravings depicting large extravagant dinners, coins, medals, and portraits.
