Description
A blackened Polish lobster-tail helmet, circa 1650
High skull consisting of twelve riveted segments. Riveted blossom-shaped crest plate with suspension loop. Smooth edge, the one-piece, pointed peak with turned edge and uninterpreted smith mark. Neck guard of two lames, sturdy chinscales attached to the sides. Iron lining rivets, on the inside remnants of the old leather cover. Height 30.5 cm.
