Description
A small Mexican folk art retablo on tin of "El Nino de Atocha", the patron saint for freeing prisoners and performing miracles for travelers and those in danger. Mounted in a hand hammered tin shadowbox frame with reverse painted glass panels on sides. The painting is in very good condition - the frame with surface rust, crack in glass panel and rust stains on the interior surface of the reverse glass panels. The total frame size measures 8 1/8" x 6 "W - the painting measures 2 5/8" x 4". Provenance: From the Doris and Jerry Soldner collection, Lake Carmel NY (formally of Kingston NY).
