Description
An early diminutive blanket box having a molded lid, end cleats attached by rose-head nails, dovetailed frame mounted on bun feet that appear to be original and retaining original hand forged lock and hasp (no key) - the exceptional lock plate all pierced carved . The box also with interior till with lid with shaped front, and is in an old, but not original, natural finish with traces of original red paint. One hinge loose, hairline in lid, normal use wear, and overall good condition. Measures 24"W x 10 1/2"D x 11 1/4"H. Provenance: From the Doris and Jerry Soldner collection, Lake Carmel NY (formally of Kingston NY).
