Native American, central/midwestern United States, Eastern Woodlands, ca. 500 to 1500 CE, found in Warren County, Missouri. A hand-knapped chert spear point exhibiting mottled beige, tan, gray, and pink hues. The petaloid point features a bifacial design with sharpened edges, lightly convex faces, and a fin-form tail with deep notches carved on the lateral sides. This point was likely bound to the end of a wooden pole via lengths of leather or sinew, perhaps for hunting or defending one's ground.
