This is an original oil on canvas painting by artist Brett McEntagart, RHA (Irish, b. 1939). McEntagart was born in Dublin and studied Art at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire and Colorado University, USA, where he was awarded a Masters of Fine Art. In 1977 he was elected an associate of the Royal Hibernian Academy leading to full membership in 1980. Serving as secretary of the Academy from 1982 to 1987, Brett resigned to spend a year painting in France and was re-elected to the post again. He has also served on the National Gallery of Ireland's Board of Governors.

This large painting, titled Winter #2, features a village scene along a Avoca Rd in Dublin, Ireland. There are identifying labels on the reverse. From the estate of Gerald Goldberg, Esq., Lord Mayor of Cork, Ireland (1977-1978). The son of Lithuanian Jewish refugees, Goldberg was the first ever Jewish Lord Mayor of Cork.
The frame is 36 1/2 x 28 1/2". The painting is 35 x 27"
