Renaissance Revival Carved Rosewood Sideboard
Possibly Alexander Roux, New York, circa 1860
Carved with mythical beasts and foliate motifs throughout. Height 6 feet 1/2 inches, width 68 3/4 inches, depth 22 inches.

Augustus Peabody Lowell, marred to Katherin Bigelo Lawrence (married ca. 1851)

By descent in the family to the present owner.

Generally good condition; sun fading on left side; ring stains to top; cracks throughout foliate shelving; minor losses to carving, including at left pilaster; upper backboards probably replaced; disturbance finish to shelving; cracks to base; key only operats drawer; cracks to some carved deocration
