Description
Vintage Hermes PARIS Carre Presentation de Chevaux HERMES Silk Scarf , signed by Philippe Ledoux, 1970, and signed HERMES PARIS. Hand rolled edges, muted beige, brown, Orange, gold and red tones. 34.5 x 35 in. App. Ceremonial 17th century country horse scene, reads 1642 Presentation de Chevaux signed by Philippe Ledoux featuring a wide brick red border, a Made in France. First edition 1970 with Hemes Fabric Care Card and original orange Hermes Scarf box. Never used. Maintained in box by original owner and bought in France on one of her travels. Noted one darker blemish, see picture. Philippe Ledoux is argued to be the premier artist that has left a huge impact on the Maison Hermes, in particular, the Hermes Carre. The Hermes scarf is the epitome of luxury. ... Like all things Hermes, the process of making the scarves is intensely detailed—engraving the printing screens takes 750 hours, while each scarf requires the silk of 250 mulberry moth cocoons.
