Magna Graecia, South Italic Colonies, Apulia, ca. 340 to 325 BCE. A fine, well preserved, miniature wheel-thrown oinochoe, a vessel for pouring, with a ringed foot, a bulbous body, a rolled shoulder, a narrow neck with a flared, in-folded rim, and a petite applied strap handle. The exterior of the vessel is covered in a lustrous black glaze with scattered areas of faint silvery iridescence, and the underside of the foot is unglazed. Size: 2.3" W x 2.6" H (5.8 cm x 6.6 cm)
Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
