Description

French chiming cloisonne mantel clock, late 19thc
14.5"W x 11.25"D x 26.5"H.------------------------------------------------------------------------Davids notes: a magnificent late 19th century timepiece, in the shape of a church or cathedral like Reims or Notre Dame.We wound the clock and it ran for a week and chimed.The clock chiming system might have been altered as there is sticks comining out of one side.The enamel work is beautiful and time consuming, some would call this cloisonee, some champleve, but it must have taken 2 years to make this piece.The finial might have been replaced, any part might have been replaced but it is a museum piece in terms of the rarity and visual workmanship.

Condition

Good condition overall; possible replaced parts, possible alteration (there is a hole with protruding rods on the left side; see photos). The clock appears to run and does chime; however, David Killen Gallery does not guarantee running condition.
