Vintage Photo of Judge Roy Bean’s Historic Saloon that Served as a Courthouse.

Photo, 5” x 8”, features Judge Roy Bean atop a horse outside his saloon, where a sign reads “Justice of the Peace Law West of the Pecos”. One man is seated atop the steps of the courthouse, and another man is standing next to an “Ice Beer” sign with a rifle in one hand and a beer in the other. Slight wear to bottom edge.

The bottom of the photo reads:

Phantly Roy Bean Jr. was an American saloon-keeper and Justice of the Peace in Val Verde County, Texas who called himself "The Only Law West of the Pecos". Bean held court in his saloon along the Rio Grande on a desolate stretch of the Chihuahuan Desert of southwest Texas.
