Description
Carved Roman style statue composed of a variety of specimens of white, rouge, and green marbles. The statue depicts a veiled female embodiment of either the Roman allegory for enlightenment or a Priestess to the Roman Goddess of the hearth and home, Hesta. She is holding a flaming vessel which symbolizes the sacred fire maintained by the Vestal Virgin, devotees to the Goddess in Ancient Rome. A flaming vessel is also alternatively a symbol of intellectual enlightenment. Please note of wear consistent with age including patina to the marble that comes with age. The statue measures 21"W x 14"D x 65"H.
