Description
ENGLISH STERLING SILVER AND OTHER SEWING THIMBLES, LOT OF FOUR, comprising a small unmarked thimble with steel top and engraved decoration to band, a large unmarked thimble with engine-turned engraving to band featuring "RB" initials, and two English sterling thimbles of one with floral top by Charles Horner with 1894 date mark and one with floral decoration to band by Samuel Foskett of London with 1893 date mark, each piece including a leather thimble case. Two with maker's marks and three hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a city mark, and a date mark, other two unmarked and of unknown silver content. Each retains collection number sticker and detailed collection card. 19th century. 7/8" to 1" HOA.
