GEORGIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER VINAIGRETTES, LOT OF TWO, each having engraved decoration to exterior with initials and a gilt interior with a hinged reticulated grill with flower and leaf design, comprising an ovoid-form example with hanging loop by John Shaw having 1809 date mark, and a rectangular-form example with "TS" maker's mark for either Thomas Smith, Thomas Shaw, or Thomas Simpson, Jr. and a date mark for 1828. Each marked to interior with a maker's mark and four hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, an anchor city mark for Birmingham, a date mark, and a King George III or IV duty mark. Total weight: 1.195 ozt. First half 19th century. Rectangular form 1 1/2" x 1" x 3/8" OA.

Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including slight bending, nicks, small dents, and spots of gilt loss; John Shaw example with possible re-gilding to interior.
