Description
GEORGE II ENGLISH STERLING SILVER SALVER, having a round well with a scroll-and-shell rim, center with later engraved decoration with center heraldry fox or wolf passant above "FIDELIS ESTO" motto, raised on three curved and hoof feet. Base impressed with unidentified "WI" maker's mark, possibly for William Justis, and three hallmarks of a crowned leopard's head city mark for London, an "r" date mark for 1752, and a lion passant for sterling fineness. Total weight: 8.090 ozt. Circa 1752. 7" DOA rim.
