Mexican Folk Art Polychrome Altar Wall Alcove Shrine. An alcove shrine from Mexico made of carved wood, plaster and canvas. The central figure, St Francis of Assisi, is holding a dove in his right hand. Three plaques with cherubs surround him and a larger head is carved on the bottom. Painted in bright colors with floral motifs. The St Francis figure is not original to the shrine and can be removed. Acquired in the 1980s, Mexico. From the collection of Barbara Porter & Robert Wincuinas.
Dimensions are 47 in h x 17 in w x 11 in d. Condition is good. Overall surface wear, paint chipping. Some cracks and discoloration. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
