Description

Carved Wood Alligator Body Mask,Mexico Folk Art Sculpture. Alligator body mask from Guerriro Mexico, used in the Danza de los Pescados (Fish Dance). Gorgeous alligator full of life and character is carved from wood with rich polychrome decoration, and an opening in the center for wearing as a mask. Legs are attached with twine and there is a human head on either side of the body opening. Mounted on a black metal stand for display. From the collection of Barbara Porter & Robert Wincuinas.

Dimensions are 22 in h x 13 in w x 53 in d. Condition is good with wear to the paint and patina. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
