Description
24.5"H Spectacular Hand Potted Chinese Dragon floor vase from the Meiji Dynasty period. This is a spectacular find with intense Dragon, flowers, and foliage. 24.5 high x 15 Diameter inches. This is a Porcelain Hand Potted bottle form vase, Chinese, with embossed/molded foo lions (same as foo dogs) in orange set against a cafe au lait (brown) background. Circa 1860. Some of those types of vases were earthenware but this one appears to be porcelain. The condition is very good. No visible cracks, chips, or repairs. Be sure and view all pics for condition. Truly an amazing piece! Kara-shishi (lions) and Peonies are a common duo in Japanese art, and are based on a No drama, "Shakkyo" (Stone Bridge), based on a tale about the Pure Land School of Buddhism. This is a rare opportunity to own a truly stunning Chinese piece.
