Albert Hodge, now retired, created folk pots of in the middle of the Catawba Valley on NC 10 in Vale, NC, just down the street from Kim Ellington & Charlie Lisk. Initially for the first few years he was based in Newton, NC. This is phenomenal example of Albert's work, double level swirl monkey jug in which he adds some rutile & melted glass. The upper jug is a smart lookin' devil whose large snout also serves as his nose. Stands 14" by 9". Marked w/ his Albert Hodge Vale NC stamp on the jug body.
