oil on Masonite, signed and dated 1974 at lower right, mounted within a silk lined gilt shadowbox frame.
Board 14 x 3 3/4 in.; Frame dimensions 20 5/8 x 10 1/2 in.
Sterling Strauser was a self-taught artist. He and his wife, Dorothy, were also known throughout the Pocono region as collectors and promoters of folk and outsider art. His paintings are in numerous public collections including Allentown Art Museum, Allentown, Pennsylvania, Cheekwood Museum, Nashville, Tennessee, and the Maier Museum of Art, Lynchburg, Virginia.
