Description
This is a very early chewing gum vending machine made by the Philadelphia Chewing Gum Manufacturing Company. Wood and tin construction, this machine was given away free with a case of Somoa Chewing gum. The tin front is embossed with the company name. The primitive construction makes you wonder how any of these machines survived, and this is a great example showing little use. Light oxidation to the front tin, light wear to the case. Reference: "Silent Salesman Too" by Bill and Peggy Enes, page 124. Condition: (Very Good). Item Dimensions: 13" x 5 - 3/4" x 4 - 1/4".
