Griffin commander of the 1st Brig 2nd Div. while in Newport News VA. to the Civil War Medal of Honor recipient Colonel Zenas Randall Bliss of the 7th Rhode Island Vols. dated February 25th 1863, the counter sign to enter camp is "Fredericksburg" Document measures 4" x 8" and has small paper loss from wax seal removal. When folded as delivered it is a 4" x 2" Triangle that was wax sealed.
