Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Chavin, ca. 900 to 500 BCE; South Coast Peru, Huari, ca. 500 to 800 CE. A fine gathering of 4 hand-carved figurine amulets of petite sizes and charming forms. First is a Chavin Spondylus shell amulet bearing several string-cut grooves that delineate the legs, neckline, and toes, a minimalist head with offset eyes, and a biconically drilled suspension hole beneath each shoulder. Next is a Chavin limestone amulet with spiralized grooves on the legs, hands folded atop the chest, and a biconical drill hole bored through the face. Last is a pair of Huari turquoise figural beads with massive heads, almond-shaped eyes, and squat legs and feet. Size of largest (Chavin limestone amulet): 0.63" W x 1.68" H (1.6 cm x 4.3 cm)

Both Huari figural beads have chips along backsides of heads as shown; both Chavin pieces are intact and very good. Each piece has minor abrasions and softening to some finer details. Nice preservation to overall forms.
