UNTITLED, 1981, diptych, acrylic painting on two sheets of paper, possibly signed on verso, each 11 ½ x 29 ½”, overall 11 ½ x 59”, frame 14 ½ x 63 ¼” with Plexiglas. Provenance: James Corcoran Gallery Santa Monica; Provenance: Ota House, Santa Monica; Proceeds to benefit UCLA Health. “ Ganzer is known as a Malibu surf legend, who inspired the 1978 surf-themed, Big Wednesday, written and directed by John Milius. When the Coen brothers were developing The Big Lebowski, Milius introduced them to Ganzer, who is said to have been an influence on The Dude. Ganzer collaborated with Ed Ruscha on several works, such as “Brave Men Run in My Family" and “Sea of Desire” and also starred in Ruscha’s ’Miracle’.” L.A. County Historical Society.
