Description

RARE 1940s ITO Wooden Battleship Toy Motorized Boat. Hand made in Japan. Has amazing detail. In newer wooden box. 33" L x 6 1/2" T x 5 1/4" W. The battery compartment has two TMY Japan electric motors with direct drive shafts to the propellers.. This boat was brought to the USA by the seller's family member who had served in Japan after WWII in the late1940s. The electric motor armatures and prop turn freely. Good condition. See photos. History: ITO International Trade Organization, a Japanese company that made and sold battery-operated wooden toy boats from the post-war late 1940s through about the 1960s. TMY of Japan built the motors used in the ITO boats. ITO boats are considered to be high quality and thus very collectible.
