Description

RARE 1940s ITO Wooden Toy Motorized Boat. Hand made in Japan. Has amazing detail. In original wooden shipping box never used. 15 1/2" L x 4" W x 3" T. The battery compartment has a TMY of Japan electric motor, drive shaft and propeller. The electric motor armature and prop turn freely. This boat was brought to the USA by the seller's family member who had served in Japan after WWII in the late1940s. Mint Condition. See photos. History: ITO International Trade Organization, a Japanese company that made and sold battery-operated wooden toy boats from the post-war late 1940s through about the 1960s. TMY of Japan built the motors used in the ITO boats. ITO boats are considered to be high quality and thus very collectible.
