Condition
Good impressions on sheets with full margins. Surface soiling and edge wear commensurate with age and handling. Occasional pale, scattered foxing showing mostly in the margins and verso of each sheet. A slight damp stain showing in the top right margin corner of Plates 1 through 29, not affecting the images. This pale stain initially measures roughly 3.25" H x 1.25" W in the outer margin of Plate 1, then decreases steadily until it is only pea-sized by Plate 20, and is gone from Plate 30 onwards. Occasional short tears, measuring 0.25" or less and with attendant soft creases, at the extreme margin edges of Plates 1-4 and again on Plate 53. This same plate is nearly disbound from the stitches along its top margin edge. The thin, blank, front- and end-papers creased, and/or split. The original pasteboard covers worn, rubbed and with scattered scuffs, small stains and/or darkening overall. The cover's spine nearly detached. A previous owner's very small, black ink collector's mark (L. 2339a) is stamped below the text on the cover and Plate 1, and then subsequently on the versos of Plates 2-80.
Overall: 12.5" H x 8.75" W x 1.75" D
