Description
Arthur Clayton Pumpkin Carving is a monumental and detailed oil on canvas painted in 1964 by Stephen Morgan Etnier (1903-1984). Signed and dated on front of painting on bottom lower right. On verso, Etnier inscribed Arthur Clayton as well as signed and dated the painting on verso as well. Etnier masterfully captures the lighting in this scene and the pumpkin with hand on top of it is just masterful. Large painting measuring from verso 38 inches in width by 23 inches in height. Outside of frame is 47 inches wide by 32 inches height. Provenance: Obtained at auction. Prior owner was from a Private Collection in Williamsburg, Virginia.
