Chinese Qing Dynasty WangBu Blue and white Porcelain Brush Pot. Potted in square cylindrical body, thick, deep, gently tapered to straight close round mouth rim, with concave flat base to input pen, raised with short round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in blue and white color, depicted of continuous four landscape of flying magpie birds over dense tree. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish - blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue - black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
