Description
An antique Japanese Kakemono watercolor and ink painting on paper depicting a bird in traditional landscape view, 1680 by the artist So I. Matted. Framed. Inscribed and dated on the back. Kakemono is a vertically hanging scroll made of paper or silk, pasted on a special base, framed with a brocade border, and equipped with wooden rollers along the edges. May depict a painting or hieroglyphics. It is an element of the shoin zukuri architectural style that developed in Japan in the 15th and 16th centuries. One of a kind artwork.
Dimensions: Frame 18 1/2" x 16" in. Plate 12" x 11 1/2" in. All measurements are approximate.
