Description
A fine association Hitler relic, the dictator's personal copy of the book 'Dietrich Eckart als Publizist' ("Dietrich Eckart as Publicist') by Wilhelm Grun (Munich: Hoheneichen Verlag), 1941. 208pp. 8vo., marbled covers with burgundy cloth spine, gold titles. This volume contains a brief biography, the transcript of Eckart's complete Ahnentafel, or family history going back as far as 1285, along with a bibliography of Eckart's writings, and an index. The front flyleaf bears an inventory tag pasted thereto with printed text: 'FUHRERHAUS KONIGLICHER PLATZ' and is stamped with inventory number: '238 / 1941' Very good to fine. The 'Fuhrerhaus' was an earlier name for the 'Fuhrerbau', a representative building for Adolf Hitler. It was where Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler signed the Munich Agreement in 1938. DIETRICH ECKART (1868-1923) was a German antisemitic völkisch poet, playwright, journalist, publicist, and political activist who was one of the founders of the German Workers' Party, the predecessor to the Nazi Party. Eckart was a key influence on Adolf Hitler in the early years of the Party, and was jailed with him following the Beer Hall Putsch. Hitler considered Eckart to be the spiritual co-founder of Nazism.
