Photograph signed and numbered by John Sexton, photographer‘s stamp on reverse. Book inscribed warmly by John Sexton to Jack & Beverly "...for two very special friends...for your loyal friendship and support of my work for over two decades!...your friend always, John Sexton." Five different photographs were selected to accompany the deluxe edition of Listen to the Trees, each in a sub-edition of 100 copies. The charming Waltmans seemed to have a collector‘s numerological preference for #26 within any edition they collected. As they already possessed book #26 (assigned to a separate print in this sale), faced with this quandary they selected book #126. The gelatin silver print, innocent of the taint of synonymy due to the sub-edition numbering scheme described above, remains no. 26. From the collection of Jack and Beverly Waltman.
