French giltwood and silk damask canape in the Louis XVI taste, late 19th century, having a musical trophy crest flowing in to a ribbon wrapped floral carved curved frame, centering an oval back above a single seat cushion, having down filled gold silk damask upholstery, the whole rising on tapering legs,together with three matching down throw pillows embellished with tassel fringe (4 pieces total). Approx. h. 43.5", w. 73", d. 27"; seat h. 20".

Canape -- Tight age split at joint at lower left of oval backrest, scattered chips to giltwood consistent with age. Minor soil to silk upholstery. Pillow covers are all open at one side seam and have loose fringe along one edge.
