Description
This is a very impressive piece of US Navy ships bridge equipment. This piece was made by the Henry Moss & Company in Brooklyn, NY, and is called a Pelorus. This navigation instrument features a brass tag stating it is a Pelorus US Navy. While undated it was likely made during World War 2. The entire piece measures 48 inches tall with a 15 inch base. The top has a dome with two handles to lift it off. The brass dome does have a number of dents and is a little out of round, making it challenging to take on and off. Inside is a compass made by Lionel Corp. in 1941. Overall this instrument weighs 100 pounds. Due to its size and weight it will require shipping via freight line or picked up at Nations Attic facility in Wichita, KS.
All items will be shipped with a signature required upon delivery and full insurance either via FedEx or the USPS Priority Mail. Worldwide shipping is available; however, no ocean freight will be offered on large items. DHL express is an option for international shipments under 600 pounds via air. A shipping quote prior to the auction can be provided by emailing your postal code.
